My journey into the exciting world of cooking started when I was a kid watching my mother cooking great food, baking the best cakes and cookies, create new salads and transforming her heritage to a modern cuisine. I am cooking since I was 15 years old. I was in charge for the food on our field trips and later in the military.
While I was attending the Hotel school in the USA for my BA degree in hotel and restaurant management I worked as a sandwich maker In Max Deli, A family owned Italian restaurant. I made sandwiches with homemade breads, roasted turkey and honey garlic ham, followed by cooking in Southern Florida; a new tastes and flavors of the blackened fish fillet with great roasted potato wedges with Cajun spices, different sauces and spreads.
In the Grand Cayman Islands, I enjoyed the exotic fruits and fresh food combination with local islands ingredients and tasty banana Rum and corn breads. Fresh seafood and a Caribbean tastes.
In the Middle East , I discovered the use of Cumin, Cardamom and Clove spices mix with Lamb Kebabs in a flat bread wrap. The Mediterranean gave me so much influence with using olive oil, fresh vegetables and different kind of spices.
While living in Las Vegas I was exposed to the South American Mexican Cuisine, stuffed tortilla, burritos and sandwich fajitas with chicken and beef. Following my travel to Mexico I discovered one of my favorite cuisine- the Mexican food which I took and created a fusion dishes from around the world.
Paris introduced me to Panini and the famous Croque Monsier, and Italy enlightened my senses to chicken Parmesan with tomato sauce and the rusty Italian bread.
China gave me a new prospective on flavors that are not found anywhere else in the world. The use of various vegetables and different cooking techniques, create new and innovative sandwiches with incorporated local breads such as Chao Bing.
I like to travel to many countries and discover new cuisine that i eat and than create my own version with new mixes of spices.
My food inspiration is from traveling around the world to create new and innovative food to share with you.
